On July 1st I met the, The S Family at my home where we started their session with some indoor shots. They have a 1 year old son who is just so happy! I was thrilled to see him smile for the camera for their family poses being that mom or dad wasn't behind the camera to make him laugh and smile. After their inside poses we headed to the, The Duck Park in Alpena to get the outdoor feel to their photos as well. This family was a pleasure to meet and I look forward to capuring more in the future with them!

For July's Epiphanie "Picture it" photo contest the theme is Independence. When I read this I immediately thought of American biker babe, an American bad ass, an American Rebel or my favorite an "American Woman" by Lenny Kravitz! So with that in mind, I went ahead and captured my version of an "American Woman" for the photo contest to have a chance at winning an Epiphanie camera bag!! For those who are not familar with Epiphanie I highly recommend you check it out at http://www.epiphaniebags.com/. Thank you and enjoy my "Picture it" photo!
All Star baseball/softball teams
I stepped out of my box and had fun with the Alpena All Stars girls age group 9-10 and boys age group 11-12. I think they had as much fun as I did. Good luck!
The F Family
For the past months The F family and I have been keeping up with each other on what outside location and poses would best fit their family. Since they are expecting a baby girl soon we wanted to incorporate some pregnancy photos as a family before and then of course after she was born. Kinsey is expected to arrive the 24th of July and on the 29th I will hopefully be meeting her!:) We have so many ideas for poses for her, I just can't wait! During their session we did some indoor and outdoor poses. Their son has a ton of energy which made it a bit difficult to capture him, but after a few hours I think we were able to capture exactly what they were looking for! This is a great family to be working with. I am looking forward to another great session when Kinsey is here.

The D Family...Plus More!
On May 26th I had the most people in my small in home studio ever! I photographed 3 separate families and then we took one big picture of them all together. This family is just great! In most cases when you have that many people together it gets crazy, but not with this family! Hearing everyone laughing while I was behind the camera was just the best feeling ever. With that, take a look at this down to earth family!

The P Family.
On May 20th I headed to a small town call Hawks where I met up with the "The P Family". When we spoke on the phone about location they had mentioned that they would like to have their session outside at their house. My first thought was, okay that is fine...trees and flowers make a great background. When I arrived in their driveway I was excited to see a bright blue pond with a dock, a big house with a white porch on it, and then I seen some old antique machinery! I immediately was very excited to begin this shoot. Take a look at what the country can bring you! Enjoy!

The R family!
When the R family called me about setting up a day for a photo session... I immediately wanted to get them scheduled as soon as possible, since their son Braden had just entered the world 9 days prior. Just Two 2 days later the R family arrived to my in-home studio here in Alpena. During their consultation through phone, Braden's Mom and I spoke about clothing colors and of course what they would like for poses and etc. Being that it was last minute I was still able to grab a few props out of my prop closet, such as a football, a wooden box, a few extra blankets and backdrops for them to choose from. When they arrived you could just see how much love these parents have for their first child. It just melts my heart everytime I look at these! It was such a pleasure to photograph them and I am looking forward to having the chance to photograph them again in the future. Thank you and enjoy!

Meet Ethan and Alex!
Ethan and Alex came to my in-home studio this past weekend for some indoor shots. Last year I had the pleasure to photograph these 2 outside at their home in Posen. Let's just say Alex would not smile but we did get this cute little grin:)
Before Ethan and Alex had their indoor photo session, their mom told me through e-mail that Alex was turning 4. She would like to mainly get his pictures taken, but would also like big brother Ethan to be in a few poses as well.
I asked what kind of things they liked to do, and one of the things she said was legos. She also advised me that they had a baseball game that day as well. One of the things that I love about my job is coming up with creative ways to capture children by what they enjoy doing. In the case with Ethan and Alex, I think we did just that!
I asked Alex before we started, "Are you going to smile this time for me?" Looking at these cute images I think I can say he did just that! Take a look!

Meet Owen!
Meet Owen at 2 years old and of course cute as can be! I had the pleasure to photograph Owen again last year around this time too. I took his 1 year old pictures with studio equipment and he had lots of energy! This time his mom thought that outdoor would be better since he is so busy...needless to say at age 2 he is still just as busy if not more! We went down to the The Dark Park to capture these photos and as busy as he was I think we did an awesome job! Take a look!
